During the late sixties a young rock band came out of England. A band who along with other bands such as the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin would change the face of guitar music forever. These such as “The Who” changed the way the guitar was played and also the way the guitar was broken and rebuilt with guitar replacement parts.
The Who was known for trashing guitars on stage. With all the broken or smashed guitars around the roadies were kept on their toes and spent a lot of money on new guitars or guitar replacement parts.
The Who and bands like them set the stage and laid the ground work for many of the harder rock bands in the decades to come. The Who was also the band that was responsible for the angry band trend in rock and roll.
Rock and roll bands from this point on had a harder edge and a lot more use from their guitars and a lot more guitar replacement parts such as strings because of their fast playing and loud music which caught on with teens.
Guitars were the center piece of the most musical arrangements of the 60's and on, many times drowning out the vocals of the person behind the mike. With this new phase of rock music came new sales of guitars from Gibson and others as many teenage boys pictured themselves as rock stars.
As these teens learned their craft and went on to front such bands as Kiss there was lots and lots of parents paying for guitar lesson, buying guitars and having guitar replacement parts put on their son old favorites.
Rock music over the last four decades has changed and has gone through many varieties with many groups coming and going. The one thing that hasn't changed though is the dream of many girls and boys who want to play guitar in their own rock bands. Another thing that hasn't changed is all the parents' spending money on guitars and guitar replacement parts all in order to fulfill their child's dreams.
